From Sapporo to Lake Toya on public roads

From Sapporo, take National Route 230 and go through Nakayama Pass

You can take the Super Hokuto express train from Sapporo Station to Toya Station

However, the trains only run once every 1-2 hours, so you will need to adjust your schedule to match the departure times of JR trains

If you take the bus from Sapporo to Lake Toya

Donan Bus operates from Sapporo to Lake Toya

The bus departs from Sapporo Station and takes approximately 2 hours and 50 minutes to reach Toyako Onsen via Jozankei, Nakayama Pass, Rusutsu Resort, and more

Travel time: Approximately 2 hours and 50 minutes
Price: 2,830 yen one way, 5,020 yen round trip

By train from New Chitose (Sapporo) Airport

You will need to change trains at Minami-Chitose Station

After a 3-minute ride on the JR Chitose Line Rapid Airport, you will arrive at Minami-Chitose Station. From there, you can take the JR Chitose Line Limited Express Super Hokuto for about 1 hour and 20 minutes to Toya Station

Taking into account waiting time at stations and time to transfer, the total journey time is approximately 1 hour and 35 minutes

The total cost of the trip, including the ticket fare and unreserved seat fee, is 4,430 yen
